Dressed to impress, this character named Ibue, is sculpted out of clay and painted with acrylic. Being a fan of Mike Giant, I was immediately drawn to Rebel 8.

I created this figure a few years ago before mailing it out last week. I hope the guys at Rebel 8 dig it.

I made these 2 buddies for Skinner and Hal. Each figure was sculpted out of a block of clay and painted with acrylic paint. When I met them, I knew I had to make them into figures. Skinner; his artwork is so bad-ass, its like taking my brain into a portal and seeing the different chambers of mythical chaos. I love it. Skinner is a inspiration and all around great guy and good friend. And his buddy, Hal always smiling when I saw him and that made me smile, so I can tell he is good folks.

The mural by Task1 welcomed me as I arrived.

Set up took less than a day, thanks to the help of Spanky, Lee, Task and Joanne.

I can't seem to say enough thank yous, so here we go. Thank you to all the artists who participated and took a risk to be in my first curated show. Thank you for everyone who came out and supported the show, the movie, the artists and the shop. It was an awesome experience and I couldn't have asked for a better show and opening night. As always, my deepest thanks to the Dragatomi's Joanne and Ray for their support and love.

All the artists did AMAZING work - totally blew me away! Some of the artwork are still available; please check them out here.

Vertigo: A Decade Of Hunting Nightmares by Alex Pardee

Over the weekend, we trekked down to Culver City for the opening of Alex's solo show: Vertigo in Corey Helford Gallery. To appreciate the show in its entirety, you must read the story that Alex created about Verti Parker.

Driving by prior to the show, we noticed a line forming by around 4pm in front of the gallery. The 9 foot tall Molar Bear greeted us as we entered:

We arrived at 7pm sharp and the gallery was already filled to the brim with barely any room to stare at the art pieces up close.

Crowd! As I recall, we left around 10pm and the line to get in was still miles long.

Much apologies for the sorry lighting and quality of pictures/angles. The sea of people made it a bit hard to get a good picture - but here we go:

This past Saturday, I attended two shows in San Francisco; first up: Love Movement at New People in Japantown. The show was curated by Jeremy Brautman and several visiting artists from Japan were in attendance, including Shin Tanaka.

There was so much stuff going on all at once: live music, live painting session, great snacks, a several artists on hand...

An honorable mention of the piece above customized by Kirkland of Toybot Studios. He blew me away with the quality and the amount of work put into these two pieces. Great job, Kirkland!

Custom Collab with J*Ryu for ToysREvil

Since this is the holiday of giving and thanking, this collab piece is so appropriate with its timing. For those of you who know, Andy of Toysrevil, has been in the hospital for almost a month now from a stroke. He has always been generous with toy coverage and contributions to the art/toy world. Upon hearing the news, Cris Rose was kind enough to start pulling artists' contributions and donations together to raise funds for Andy's medical expenses. To do our part, this 8" Munny collab I did with J*Ryu will be for sale and the money will go towards the cause.

The piece debuted at DCon this past weekend. J*Ryu sculpted the oni mask on one side while I finished the rest of the sculpting and painted the whole piece.

J*Ryu said he had a great time doing the piece and looks forward to many more collabs to come in the future. To be honest, when I received his sculpted oni mask, I was afraid that I would ruin the figure with anything else I tried to sculpt. I was relieve to have his approval once it was completed.

Many things took place all under one roof; 80s horror classics playing in one room, a photo booth, a dj, a mixologist tending cocktails, mimes and tons of attendees in great costumes.

More importantly - toys and lots of artwork!

Spanky Stokes' "Observer" looks downright cuddly. Toenails, horn and all.

J*Ryu's pieces looked more amazing in person than any of the pictures I've seen.

Plaseebo sent me 11 of his "Skulloctopus" and I, in my usual fashion, broke all the toys to double the amount of customs I created. One of two sculpted toys that I made for Slick and his nephew, Ryan, who I met at T.A.G. during the Celsius show. Slick has been a long-time inspiration to me and meeting Ryan reiterates just how small the world is. Hope they'll like it.

Monster Within - GR2

This past weekend, we made our way down to LA for two shows, both opened on Saturday night. First part of the night: Monster Within at Giant Robot, curated by Buff Monster. Much thanks to Buff to inviting me to be a part of the show again. It is unreal to be a part of the show with such caliber of artists in the industry.

Some of artists on the show: Huck Gee, Paul Kaiju, Jeremyville, Camilla D'Errico, Craola, Junko Mizuno, Uamou, Joe Ledbetter, Suck Lord, Mark Nagata, Skinner, David Horvath, MAD and Buff, of course.
