Tenacious Toys and Nemo are putting together a custom "toy" show for Halloween 2009. No blank toys; just rollie sticks. LOL. It's gonna be fun and challenging at the same time. I approached Nemo to do a collab piece for the show in addition to my own. *Note to self: wear gloves when I empty these sticks. Join in on the fun and get your rollie on ;)

Here's the important stuff...

1st Stop: Shopwars Battle

The theme of the competition surrounds the 8" Qees of Toy2R. Local shops and companies, ranging from tattoo shops to toy stores like Kidrobot of SF, customized their Qee of choice for the competition.

Voters choose their favorites and cast their votes. All of the toys are for sale and 50% of the proceeds are donated to Project Open Hand. Project Open Hand is a San Francisco-based nonprofit that provides meals to people with AIDS and seniors.

Gotta love that hairdo.

Packaged "Qeef" teehee...

Yup, some where underneath all this was a 8" Qee.

All of the artwork are being displayed at 1AM until October 10th. Most toys are $100; it's for a great cause and just plain o' good investment for you art collectors out there ;)

Lief of Delicious Drips brought out a 16" Qee Cat for all the artists and attendees to doodle on during the show. Feeling inspired, everyone grabbed a paintbrush and doodled away. I couldn't stay til the end to see the "mural" Qee Cat. Hopefully, Lief will have updates on this one...

I want to give a big thank you to Lief for putting the show together and Dan at 1AM for being such a great host.

News: A Toy Show?

First show in the East Bay for me: Terminal22 Gallery. The exhibit will feature custom toys by a whole bunch of toy makers from around the states, including my friend, NervisWr3k. I was brought on board kinda late, so I couldn't make it onto the flyer. Oops.

Sal and I will be there this coming Friday; come see him in person if you didn't make it out for his debut :)

Pablo y Francisco

A while back ago, Kevin of Toy2R USA generously sent over two Qees for me to do for the First Friday Art Walk in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Meet Francisco and Pablo; the latest additions.

They will be on displayed in and around Lincoln (maybe Omaha). I hope the good folks at Toy2R will enjoy these two kids for many years to come.

Lt. Lajos

Lieutenant Lajos is a do-er, not a whiner.

When General Gannon gives an order, Lajos will get the job done.

Like entering the DIY Shopwars Competition at 1AM Gallery on Sept. 25, 2009.

Lajos - prepare to battle.

***UPDATE: 10/09/09*** Yay! Lajos got 3rd place!!! "That'll do, pig, that'll do."
